Acceptable Use
& Abuse

1. The short version

KemDoc stores encrypted documents and sends links to them. That's useful to an accountant collecting signed engagement letters, and equally useful to someone distributing something they shouldn't. We can't read what you store — which makes clear rules and a working report channel more important here, not less.

2. Prohibited uses

You may not use KemDoc to:

• Host or distribute malware, or use a document link as a delivery stage for it
• Run phishing — including sending signature requests that impersonate another person, business, or authority
• Store or share child sexual abuse material. No threshold, no warning, no appeal: the account is terminated and the matter reported to the appropriate authorities
• Distribute content you have no right to distribute
• Forge signatures, or send documents for signature under a false identity
• Send bulk unsolicited messaging using signature invitations
• Break the law where you are, where your recipients are, or where our infrastructure sits

3. Reporting abuse

Email abuse@kemdoc.com. To let us act quickly, include:

• The document or share link involved
• Timestamps with a timezone
• What happened, and any evidence you can share
• How to reach you if we need to ask something

We aim to acknowledge within one business day. CSAM reports and active phishing campaigns are handled immediately and out of order. We don't share a reporter's identity with the account being reported unless legally required to.

4. What we can and can't do

We can disable a share link, suspend or terminate an account, and preserve the metadata and audit trail relevant to a report.

We can't read the document to verify a content-based allegation — that's the direct consequence of the zero-knowledge design, and we'd rather state it here than pretend otherwise. We act on the evidence you provide plus what the metadata supports. Where a report concerns something we genuinely cannot assess, we will say so rather than quietly do nothing.

5. Consequences

Depending on severity and history: a warning, a disabled link, a suspended account, or termination. Serious cases — CSAM, fraud, active phishing — skip straight to termination and are reported. We don't refund service terminated for abuse.

If you believe we've got it wrong, reply to the notice we send. We would rather reinstate a wrongly suspended customer than defend a bad call.

6. Law enforcement

Requests go to legal@kemdoc.com and should identify the account or link and the time window. We respond to valid legal process. Know before you ask: we hold encrypted document contents we cannot decrypt, plus account details, metadata and audit trails — see the Privacy Policy. Emergency requests involving a risk to life are handled immediately.
